Individuals who are eligible for vocational rehabilitation services and well-prepared for a job in the community can receive job placement services through RVW without working in the workshop, prior to hire. Job coaches conduct initial interviews and work to recruit the right job fit for the job candidate. The coach helps place the candidate and manages his or her work adjustment. In this scenario, the coach may be on the job with the new hire from 2 weeks up to 250 hours (depending upon which job coach services the person needs).

Eligible candidates receiving job coaching support may be seeking new employment after a layoff, or they may need a new position after experiencing a disability that prevents them from doing the job they used to do. The job coaches do an excellent job of matching abilities with opportunities and transitioning people into new jobs.
